What we shipped, and when.

Every change to the Tenora-ai app, newest first. Features we added, things we fixed, and the occasional thing we switched off again.

Tenora-ai deploys continuously — often several times a day. This page lists changes to the app you log into. Work that only moved things behind the scenes isn't listed, and neither is anything about this marketing site.

Editing a tenant's details

  • New You can edit a tenant's name, email, phone and emergency contact — from their page, or straight from the Tenants list, on your phone as well as your computer. Until now a typo in any of them was there for good.
  • New Correcting a tenant's email cancels any portal invite that went to the old address, so you can send a fresh one to the right place. If they already have a login, they sign in with the new address from then on — the form tells you before you save.
  • Fixed On a phone, the Tenants list kept Manage Login and Message off the right edge of the screen. Each tenant is now a card with every action on it.
  • Fixed A tenant's emergency contact never showed on their page. It does now.
  • Fixed “Change Email” under Manage Login changed only the address a tenant signs in with — the Tenants list kept showing the old one, and their reminders kept going to it. Both now change together.

When your rent money actually arrives

  • New A rent payment that is still clearing now tells you the date Stripe expects it in your bank. Bank transfers take several business days, and “Processing” on its own gave you no way to tell a normal wait from something gone wrong without opening Stripe to check.
  • Fixed Bank transfers were invisible to Tenora between the moment your tenant paid and the moment the money settled — the invoice said “Processing” and nothing recorded which payment it was waiting on. Tenora now follows the transfer the whole way.

Closing your account

  • New You can close your Tenora account yourself, from Settings. Your access ends immediately; your personal details are erased thirty days later, so a deletion made by mistake can still be undone in that window.
  • New Your invoices, payments and ledger entries are kept for seven years after closing. They are financial records and we are required to hold them — the screen says so before you confirm, rather than leaving you to find out.
  • New Closing is refused while a lease is still running or an invoice is still open, and it tells you which. Your tenants pay rent through their portal, and they should not lose it without warning because the account above them closed.
  • New Tenants can close their own portal account from their Account page. Your record of the tenancy — the lease and what was paid — stays with you; it is your business record, not part of their login.

Messaging between you and your tenants

  • New Sign in and anything waiting on you comes to you: a new message from a tenant, rent that has gone unpaid, a lease about to lapse, an emergency ticket. It slides in once, closes with Escape or a click anywhere else, and the bell at the top brings it back. Close it and it stays closed until your next sign-in.
  • New A Chat tab inside every property. You and each tenant can message each other in the app, so the conversation lives with the tenancy instead of in your personal texts. Each tenant sees only their own thread — they cannot see what anyone else wrote.
  • New Tenants have a Messages screen in their portal, and unread messages show as a count next to Properties so you do not have to open each building to find out whether anyone wrote to you.
  • New You are both told when the other writes — email by default, or switch to text in Settings. Your tenant chooses separately. Several messages in a row arrive as one notification, and if you have already read the conversation nothing is sent at all.

Market analysis, and rent that pre-dates Tenora

  • New Dashboard shortcuts. The four figures at the top are links now — click Outstanding and you land on the unpaid list, not the Payments default — and a row underneath jumps straight to adding a property or a tenant, messaging everyone, or the guide.
  • New A Market tab on each property: the median rent where it sits, how many households rent nearby, how tight the market is, and HUD's official benchmark per bedroom count — with your own rents lined up against all of it.
  • New Every figure names its source and the year it was published. Nothing on that screen is estimated by AI: a made-up rent looks exactly like a real one, and you would be setting real rents from it.
  • New HUD's Fair Market Rent for your area, per bedroom count — the figure housing vouchers actually pay. More useful than a blended median when you are pricing a specific unit.
  • New Your agents are on from the day you sign up. They used to ship switched off behind a settings screen you had no reason to look for, which meant your first week was the spreadsheet work you joined to stop doing. Every step is still individually switchable, and you can stop any of them mid-sentence.
  • New The Rent agent now tells you once a month if any tenancy has months with no rent recorded, so you hear about it without having to open the app.
  • New Add a tenant who moved in months ago and Tenora now spots the months that were never invoiced, and asks whether they were already paid. Those months used to be invisible — not unpaid, just absent from the rent roll.
  • New Months you mark as still owed hold off automatic reminders and late fees for 14 days, so a brand-new invoice dated two months ago doesn't go straight to chasing your tenant.
  • Fixed A lease balance counted rent that isn't due yet. Generating a year of invoices made a tenant who owed nothing look $17,000 behind. The balance is now what's owed today, with scheduled rent shown separately.

Readable message history, and search that finds amounts

  • New Notification history: click any sent message to read it in full — the exact text the tenant received, who it went to by name, and the error if it failed.
  • Fixed Search now finds a payment by its amount, a ticket or vendor by trade, and a unit by its tenant's name. Those matched only by accident before.

Search everything from the top bar

  • New A real search box: one query across properties, units, tenants, leases, applications, maintenance, payments, vendors and documents. Open it with ⌘K or /.
  • New Typing “vacant”, “overdue”, “open tickets” or “expiring” runs the actual query rather than matching text.

A user guide, and screening you run yourself

  • New A User guide tab walking through the whole flow with screenshots, and a contact button when it doesn't cover something.
  • New Record a screening result you ran yourself, so the decision and the paperwork live with the application.
  • Fixed Three gaps the first real application exposed, including reference request emails that were never actually sent.

Starter cut to $25 a month

  • New Up to 10 units is now $25/month, down from $50.
  • Fixed A pay stub is no longer required to apply. Social Security, a housing voucher, child support and self-employment are lawful income and the form now treats them that way.

The application flow, switched on

  • New Applications are live: send one link, the applicant fills it in, and everything lands on one screen against your criteria.
  • Fixed Simulated screening data can no longer produce a real adverse-action notice, and no application fee is charged while no screening provider is connected.

Maintenance, from report to receipt

  • New Schedule a vendor against a ticket, then close it out with the final cost, a rating and the receipt.
  • New Vendors arrive already populated for each property instead of an empty list.

The Ops agent tells you who to call

  • New A tenant reports a problem, the agent works out the trade and urgency and texts you vendors to call. It contacts nobody and spends nothing.
  • New Vendors now carry trades, favourites and ratings. Star one and the agent names only them.
  • Fixed Every message sent to a tenant is recorded in history, including in-app ones.

Payouts, and a dashboard that responds

  • New You're told when Stripe pays out to your bank, and when a payout fails.
  • New Send notice opens a prefilled message straight from the dashboard.
  • Fixed Dead buttons on the dashboard attention cards, and a direct link into your Stripe dashboard instead of hunting for it.

Tenant portal tune-up

  • New Tenants can pay part-paid invoices and see what's due now on their dashboard.
  • Fixed Payment history shows money actually received rather than settled invoices.

All of it, from $25 a month.

Up to 10 units. Card required, cancel any time from your billing settings.
